First established in October of 1999, Fashion Insight aims to contribute to the fashion industry with knowledge and information that could be shared between the professionals of the field.
The company first published its weekly fashion and retail newspaper on the 17th of January 2000 by the name ‘Fashion Insight’ and the issues include information on various subjects such as clothing, jewellery, beauty and retail in article form. This provides useful information and advice to start up new companies or expand further newly developing businesses. It also promotes the smooth understanding of the exchanging of the fashion industries’ up and down stream information and the newspaper hopes to provide the ‘inside vision’ and continue in building up its reputation as a fashionist’s partner.
Following its publication of the weekly newspaper, Fashion Insight launched three other fashion related fields to contribute to its growing company. In September 2002, it introduced a web-based Korean fashion career network, ‘Fashion In’ [www.fashionin.com], where employment is offered and sought for from various fashion and retailing companies and industries. Then in December 2003, an internet photo studio ‘Photomon’ [www.photomon.com] was created, followed by a constructive education institute, Fashion Insight Knowledge Institute [FIKI] two years later in December 2005.
This implies that Fashion Insight expertises and has business in four different areas: newspaper publication, publishing, education and photography. The company is also seeking to have correspondents in New York, Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo and Beijing to develop connections in the fashion arena with the major cities.
‘Fashion News’ is a Chinese weekly that is affecting a significant area of mainland China including towns like Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhajiang, Shandong, Fujan and etc. The first issue of each month of this weekly specialises in Korean fashion. This feature is benefiting the launch of Korean textile and fashion industries to China and it is allowing the Chinese public to become aware of the present Korean fashion style.
The union of Korean fashion industries through sharing each other’s work, knowledge and experiences to become a ‘Korea’ brand and outshine in the global market is the main intention that we value in Fashion Insight.
